Dr. Eli Dapolonia, Ph.D.
Licensed PsychologistEli Dapolonia, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist specializing in clinical neuropsychology and concussion management at NCMA. Dr. Dapolonia offers clinical and neuropsychological evaluations, concussion management, cognitive skills training, cognitive wellness screening, and evidence-based therapy.
Dr. Dapolonia received his master’s degrees in clinical psychology and counseling psychology, both from Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon. He went on to complete his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Pacific University as well.
He began focusing on neuropsychology as an area of specialization in 2017 at Kaiser Permanente NW. His specialization included coursework in neuroanatomy and neuropathology as well as experiences emphasizing neuropsychology. His versatile clinical and work experience spans various settings and includes sports medicine at Oregon Health & Sciences University, focusing on presurgical epilepsy and concussion evaluations. He has provided adult neuropsychological testing and assessment services, facilitated cognitive rehabilitation groups, and contributed to COVID-19 neuropsychology research. He has also actively participated in diversity and inclusion committees.
In addition to neuropsychology, Dr. Dapolonia has extensive training in evidence-based therapy tools including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and cognitive compensatory skills training. He is a passionate advocate for mental health and strives to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals across diverse backgrounds.
His research endeavors include coordinating recruiting for an NIH U01 grant on mindfulness-based resilience training for law enforcement officers, highlighting his dedication to evidence-based practices. As a member of professional organizations like the National Academy of Neuropsychology and the American Psychological Association, Dr. Dapolonia stays abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
