Matthew Garlinghouse, Ph.D.
Licensed PsychologistDr. Matthew Garlinghouse is a licensed psychologist in clinical neuropsychology at NCMA. He is an established expert in the evaluation of neurologic and psychiatric disorders, specializing in epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, memory disorders, CNS cancer, brain injury, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Dr. Garlinghouse completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Dakota and his internship and fellowship in Neuropsychology and Neuroimaging at Dartmouth Medical School (now Geisel School of Medicine). He has served as faculty at Harvard Medical School, Henry Ford Health Systems / Wayne State School of Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is currently employed as a Staff Neuropsychologist at the NWI Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska and works remotely with NCMA.
Dr. Garlinghouse brings a wealth of academic and clinical experience to his current role. He is dedicated to collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches, evident in his current association with NCMA, where he collaborates with the other exceptional providers. Dr. Garlinghouse also demonstrates a commitment to community service by volunteering his time for the assessment of women in shelters who may have experienced brain injury.
Dr. Garlinghouse was honored with the NARSAD Suzanne and John Golden Investigator Award from the Brain & Behavior Research Organization in 2008 and was named the Professional Advocate of the Year by the Brain Injury Alliance of Nebraska in 2019. Dr. Garlinghouse is an active member of professional societies, including the International Neuropsychological Society, American Psychological Association, Michigan Psychological Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, and the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology.
